he horizontal elements of roof construction OPERA are made from prestressed concrete and sets on IF beams. Basic characteristics of OPERA elements: the lightness of form, stiffness of structure, possibility of setting up air shaft. At best, it can archive the fire resistance of the R120’ (norm. UNI 9502). Architecture of the OPERA wing element makes a strong aesthetic impression. Those elements are made of a thin wall with thickness of 6cm, a constant cross-section. They can be supplied complete with thermal isolation and waterproofing, which remarkably reduces the time of roof works.
Two types of products are: OPERINO height 70cm for spans between 15m and 18m; OPERA height 82,5cm for spans between 18m and 24m.
Composition of covering
The construction of roof covering are composed of OPERA bearer which can be connected (blanking) or placed at certain distance, so the air shaft can be positioned between them. Insulation and waterproofing, of OPERA roof covering, are realized in plant which remarkably reduces the time of roof works. The roof isolation is realized in traditional system with bituminous strips and insulation combined with arch bended sandwich panels. Insulation is then placed between the OPERA girders, or is placed by the use of innovative materials such as TPO or PVC membranes in combination with insulation materials. This system of elements is particularly useful in construction with smoke shafts, and also with air shafts.
The drainage of rainwater
The special concave shape, of the upper surface of the OPERA bearer with minimum slope of 1%, allows efficient drainage from the lateral canal. This technical solution for the roof construction is well combined with the ‘pluvia’ or similar systems for drainage of rainwater.
